Abstract

Pneumonia is a worldwide major healthcare and economic problem with a considerable effect on morbidity and mortality. The use of Lung Ultrasound (LUS) has gained popularity in intensive care units (ICUs) and emergency departments (EDs). It has recently been shown to be highly effective in evaluating pulmonary conditions and has become increasingly recognized as a potentially useful diagnostic approach for community-acquired pneumonia. Here, we present a case of dyspnea due to pneumonia. In this case the images for the pleural effusion, thickness of pleura and parancimal images obtained by LUS. We evaluated that LUS is a useful tool in determining the pneumonia and pleural effusion in the emergency departments (EDs).
